Overview
At MDA Space I built satellite imaging scheduling and mapping for geospatial clients, and worked with a partner team on an elevation and terrain detection system in ArcGIS.
I shipped 2 major contract projects with a team of 4 front end developers. I was responsible for development, testing, and documentation.
Contributions
- Developed features relating to satellite imaging scheduling and mapping for geospatial clients. Developed and shipped 2 major contract projects in a team of 4 front end developers. Responsible for development, testing and documentation.
- Assisted a partner team to build out an elevation and terrain detection system used to allow clients to view changes in chronological views utilizing the ArcGIS library.
Challenges
Imaging clients needed scheduling and mapping in the products they were already using. The contract work was two major projects, with development, testing, and documentation shared across a team of four front end developers.
The terrain system belonged to a partner team. Clients needed to see elevation and terrain change over time.
Design Decisions
Scheduling and mapping stayed on the imaging work for those geospatial clients. I took development, testing, and documentation on the two contract projects.
The elevation and terrain detection system uses the ArcGIS library. Chronological views are how a client sees what changed.
Reflection
Two contract projects shipped. One side was satellite imaging scheduling and mapping. The other was terrain change over time, in ArcGIS, with a partner team.
